Paneer Paratha Recipe

Paneer Paratha is a stuffed flatbread filled with spiced cottage cheese. This easy-to-make paratha is delicious and perfect for breakfast or a wholesome meal with yogurt or pickle.

Ingredients
  

For the Dough:

  • 2 cups whole wheat flour
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • Water as needed
  • 1 tbsp oil

For the Filling:

  • 1 cup paneer (grated)
  • 1 green chili (finely chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 cup fresh coriander leaves (chopped)
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a bowl, mix whole wheat flour, salt, and water to form a smooth dough.
  • Knead well, add a little oil, and cover it. Let it rest for 15 minutes.

Prepare the Filling:

  • In a bowl, mix grated paneer, green chili, cumin powder, coriander powder, garam masala, and salt.
  • Add fresh coriander leaves and mix thoroughly.

Roll and Stuff the Paratha:

  • Divide the dough into equal balls. Roll out one ball into a small disc.
  • Place 2-3 tablespoons of paneer filling in the center.
  • Cover it with another rolled disc or fold the edges of the same disc to seal the filling.
  • Roll gently into a flat paratha.

Cook the Paratha:

  • Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat.
  • Place the paratha on the tawa and cook for 1-2 minutes until bubbles appear.
  • Flip, apply ghee or oil, and cook both sides until golden brown.

Serve Hot:

  • Serve the paneer paratha hot with yogurt, butter, or pickle.

Notes

  • Storage Tip: Store leftover dough and filling separately in the refrigerator for up to 2 days.
  • Variation: Add grated cheese along with paneer for a richer flavor.
  • Serving Suggestion: Top with butter for an indulgent treat.
