Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup whole wheat flour
  • 1/4 tsp ajwain (carom seeds)
  • 1/4 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 2 tbsp oil or ghee
  • Water (as needed)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Dough:

  • In a bowl, combine whole wheat flour, ajwain, cumin seeds, salt, and oil.
  • Add water gradually to form a smooth dough. Let it rest for 10 minutes.

Roll the Khakhra:

  • Divide the dough into small balls.
  • Roll each ball into a thin disc using a rolling pin.

Roast the Khakhra:

  • Heat a tawa or griddle over low heat.
  • Place the rolled khakhra on the tawa and press it gently with a spatula.
  • Flip and roast both sides until crispy and golden brown.

Store and Serve:

  • Cool the khakhra and store in an airtight container.
  • Serve with pickle, yogurt, or tea.

Notes

  • Variation: Add fenugreek leaves or chili powder for a spicier version.
  • Storage: Khakhra can be stored for up to 10 days in an airtight container.
