Basting brush
- 500g boneless chicken, cut into chunks
- 1 cup thick yogurt
- 2 tablespoons lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons ginger-garlic paste
- 1 tablespoons red chili powder
- 1 tablespoons turmeric powder
- 1 tablespoons cumin powder
- 1 teaspoon garam masala
- 1 teaspoon vegetable oil
- Salt to taste
- Fresh cilantro leaves for garnish
In a large mixing bowl, combine yogurt, lemon juice, ginger-garlic paste, and all the spices. Mix well to form a smooth marinade.
Add the chicken chunks to the marinade, ensuring each piece is well-coated. Cover and refrigerate for at least 6 hours or overnight for best results.
Preheat the grill or oven to 200°C (390°F). Thread the marinated chicken pieces onto skewers.
Grill the chicken kebabs for 15-20 minutes, turning occasionally and basting with oil or melted butter to prevent them from drying out.
Once the chicken is fully cooked and slightly charred, remove the skewers and let them rest for a few minutes.
Serve hot with a side of mint chutney, sliced onions, and lemon wedges. Garnish with fresh cilantro leaves.
- Adjust the spice level by increasing or decreasing the amount of chili powder.
- For an authentic smoky flavor, consider using a charcoal grill or adding a few pieces of charcoal to your oven grill.
