Ingredients
  

  • 500g prawns, cleaned and deveined
  • 1 tsp turmeric powder
  • 1 tsp red chili powder
  • 2 tbsp oil
  • 1 large onion, finely chopped
  • 2 tomatoes, chopped
  • 1 tbsp ginger-garlic paste
  • 1 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1 tsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala powder
  • Fresh coriander for garnish
  • Salt to taste

Instructions
 

  • Marinate the Prawns: In a bowl, mix prawns with turmeric powder, red chili powder, and a pinch of salt. Set aside.
  • Prepare the Masala: Heat oil in a pan. Add cumin seeds and let them sizzle. Add chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  • Add Ginger-Garlic Paste: Stir in ginger-garlic paste and cook until the raw aroma disappears.
  • Add Tomatoes and Spices: Add chopped tomatoes, coriander powder, and salt. Cook until tomatoes turn soft and oil separates.
  • Cook the Prawns: Add marinated prawns and mix well. Cover and cook for 10-12 minutes or until prawns are tender.
  • Finish with Garam Masala: Sprinkle garam masala and stir well. Garnish with fresh coriander.
  • Serve Hot: Enjoy your prawn masala with rice or roti.

Notes

For a thicker gravy, you can add a small amount of coconut milk. Adjust chili powder for desired spiciness.
