Ingredients
  

  • 1 cup coarse cornmeal
  • 4 cups water or chicken broth
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1/2 cup grated Parmesan cheese

Instructions
 

Boil the Liquid:

  • In a saucepan, bring 4 cups of water or broth to a boil. Add salt.

Add the Cornmeal:

  • Gradually whisk in the cornmeal, stirring constantly to avoid lumps.

Cook the Polenta:

  • Reduce the heat to low and let the Polenta simmer, stirring frequently with a wooden spoon for 25 minutes, until thick and creamy.
  • Finish with Butter and Cheese:
  • Stir in the butter and grated Parmesan cheese until fully incorporated.

Serve:

  • Serve the Polenta hot, with extra cheese sprinkled on top if desired.
