  • Ramekins

Ingredients

  • 2 cups heavy cream
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 packet 2 1/4 teaspoons unflavored gelatin
  • 2 tablespoons cold water

Instructions

Bloom the Gelatin:

  • In a small bowl, add the gelatin to 2 tablespoons of cold water. Let it sit for 5 minutes to bloom.

Heat the Cream Mixture:

  • In a saucepan, combine heavy cream, whole milk, and granulated sugar.
  • Heat over medium heat, stirring until the sugar dissolves. Do not let it boil.

Add the Gelatin:

  • Once the cream mixture is hot, remove it from the heat.
  • Add the bloomed gelatin and whisk until fully dissolved.
  • Stir in the vanilla extract.

Strain and Pour:

  • Strain the mixture through a fine mesh sieve to remove any undissolved particles.
  • Pour the mixture into ramekins or serving glasses.

Chill:

  • Let the Panna Cotta cool to room temperature, then cover with plastic wrap.
  • Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or until fully set.

Serve:

  • Once set, serve the Panna Cotta with fresh berries or a drizzle of fruit coulis.

Notes

  • Variation: For a different flavor, replace the vanilla with almond extract or add a tablespoon of coffee for a coffee-flavored Panna Cotta.
  • Storage: Store the Panna Cotta in the refrigerator for up to 3 days.
  • Serving Tip: Serve with a sprig of mint for added freshness and presentation.
