Ingredients
  

  • 4 idlis (for burger buns)
  • 1/2 cup boiled potatoes, mashed (for patty)
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped carrots
  • 1/4 cup finely chopped beans
  • 1/4 cup bread crumbs
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1/2 tsp coriander powder
  • Salt and pepper to taste
  • 1 tsp chaat masala
  • Coconut chutney (or any chutney of choice)
  • Sliced tomatoes and onions for toppings
  • Optional: Cheese slices

Instructions
 

  • Prepare the Idlis: Steam the idlis if freshly made, or warm pre-made idlis slightly. Let them cool and set aside.
  • Make the Patty: In a mixing bowl, combine mashed potatoes, chopped carrots, beans, cumin powder, coriander powder, salt, pepper, and chaat masala. Mix well and form into patties.
  • Cook the Patty: Heat a non-stick pan, add a bit of oil, and cook the patties until golden and crisp on both sides.
  • Assemble the Idli Burger: Place an idli as the base bun, spread a thin layer of chutney, add the patty, top with a slice of tomato, onion, and cheese if using. Top with the second idli as the burger lid.
  • Serve and Enjoy: Secure with a toothpick if needed and serve your Idli Burger with a side of extra chutney or sauce.

Notes

  • To make it more filling, try adding a layer of scrambled paneer or tofu in the patty.
