Ingredients
  

For Batter:

  • 1 cup gram flour (besan)
  • 1/2 tsp cumin seeds
  • 1/2 tsp red chili powder
  • 1/4 tsp turmeric powder
  • Salt to taste
  • Water as needed
  • Oil (for frying)

For Stuffing (Optional):

  • 2 medium potatoes (boiled and mashed)
  • 1/4 tsp garam masala
  • 1/4 tsp chili powder
  • Salt to taste

For Assembly:

  • 4 slices bread (cut diagonally)

Instructions
 

Prepare the Batter:

  • In a mixing bowl, combine gram flour, cumin seeds, red chili powder, turmeric, and salt.
  • Gradually add water to make a smooth, thick batter.

Prepare the Stuffing (Optional):

  • In a bowl, mix mashed potatoes, garam masala, chili powder, and salt.
  • Spread the potato mixture between two bread slices and press gently.

Dip the Bread:

  • Cut the bread slices diagonally.
  • Dip each bread piece or stuffed sandwich in the batter, ensuring an even coat.

Fry the Pakoras:

  • Heat oil in a deep frying pan over medium heat.
  • Fry the pakoras until golden brown and crisp on both sides.

Serve Hot:

  • Drain the pakoras on paper towels and serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.

Notes

  • Storage: Bread Pakoras are best enjoyed fresh but can be stored for 1 day in the fridge.
  • Variation: Use multigrain bread for a healthier option.
