300gground pork (or substitute with mushrooms for vegetarian)
2tbsp soy sauce
1tsp sesame oil
1tsp ginger(minced)
1garlic clove(minced)
1/4cup finely chopped green onions
Salt and pepper to taste
Instructions
In a mixing bowl, combine flour, sugar, and yeast. Gradually add warm water and knead the dough until smooth. Cover and let it rise for 1 hour.
Prepare the filling by mixing ground pork (or mushrooms), soy sauce, sesame oil, ginger, garlic, and green onions. Season with salt and pepper.
Once the dough has risen, divide it into small balls. Roll each ball into a flat circle.
Place a spoonful of filling in the center of each dough circle. Fold and pinch the edges to seal the Baozi.
Steam the Baozi in a preheated steamer for 12–15 minutes until fully cooked.
Serve warm with dipping sauce, if desired.
Notes
For a vegetarian version, substitute the pork with finely chopped mushrooms and add a pinch of chili flakes for extra flavor. You can also freeze uncooked Baozi and steam them later.
